The search for plants useful for growing in relay intercropping system - dataset

In the 2022-2023 growing season, a field experiment was carried out at the Brody experimental station, belonging to the University of Life Sciences in Poznań. Five plant species were sown in rows into a modified winter wheat canopy. The modification of the wheat field consisted in leaving an unsown strip 4 rows wide for every 4 rows of wheat. In the third decade of May, the following plant species were sown: a) Buckwheat b) Soya c) Sorghum d) Phacelia e) Mustard These plants were also grown in pure sowing - which constituted the control. For a certain period of time (from the moment of emergence of plants sown in the winter wheat canopy), two row crops were grown on selected plots. This state of affairs persisted until the harvest of the main crop, which was winter wheat. Harvesting was carried out carefully and using a modified combine harvester, which allowed obtaining wheat grain without damaging the sown plants. Then the sown plants grew in the field until they were harvested.
