Abstract (EN)
The paper presents results of a survey of natural monuments and monumental trees in the Grod zisk County, Poland. During the field research it was found that there are 57 monuments of nature in the community of Granowo, Kamieniec, Rakoniewice and Wielichowo. Under monument protection are as fol lows: 43 individual trees, 13 groups of trees and 1 alley. Trees growing in former palace or manor parks were most often considered monuments. Pedunculate oak is the most numerous species under protection at the rank of a single monument, and in group monuments the common chestnut trees are the most numerous. The thickest tree measured is the red oak growing in the park in Rakoniewice with a circumference of 6.69 m, and the oldest monument from the research area (1957) is a group of 3 pedunculate oaks growing in the forest in Ujazd. Most natural monuments have been created in the 1980s. During the research work, 6 monument trees were selected as follows: 3 specimens of the English oak Quercus robur L., 1 specimens of Norvay maple Acer platanoides L., 1 specimen of sycamore maple Acer pseudo platanus L. and 1 speciment of silver poplar Populus alba L. Due to its impressive size and standing out among other trees of the same genus or species, they should be taken under monument protection.
