Ground Beetles (Coleoptera, Carabidae) of the Karkonosze National Park - current state of knowledge and needs for further research

dc.abstract.enThe Karkonosze National Park is counted among the valuable natural sites with insufficiently known fauna, this applies especially to ground beetles from the family Coleoptera, Carabidae. Based on a literature review and the so-called “grey literature” faunistic information on this group of beetles was compiled, subjecting the list of species to criticism. It was noted that species such as Carabus variolosus, C. irregularis, C. problematicus, Calosoma sycophanta require confirmation with contemporary data due to general distribution in Poland and Europe or habitat preferences. The report of Carabus auratus should be considered unlikely. Among the 80 species reported from the Park, some species may be symptomatic of anthropopressure-related threats and require monitoring on a par with valuable species. Given the unsatisfactory level of knowledge of the Carabidae of the Karkonosze National Park, further faunistic studies should be carried out, taking into account the whole habitat spectrum of the area.
dc.abstract.plKarkonoski Park Narodowy zaliczany jest do cennych obiektów przyrodniczych o niedostatecznie poznanej faunie, dotyczy to szczególnie chrząszczy z rodziny biegaczowatych (Coleoptera, Carabidae). Na podstawie przeglądu literatury oraz tzw. „szarej literatury” zestawiono informacje faunistyczne o tej grupie chrząszczy, poddając krytyce listę gatunków. Zauważono, że gatunki takie jak: Carabus variolosus, C. irregularis, C. problematicus, Calosoma sycophanta wymagają potwierdzenia współczesnymi danymi z uwagi na ogólne rozmieszczenie w Polsce i Europie lub preferencje siedliskowe. Za mało prawdopodobne należy uznać doniesienie o Carabus auratus. Niektóre spośród 80 gatunków podawanych z parku mogą stanowić symptom zagrożeń związanych z antropopresją i wymagają monitoringu na równi z gatunkami cennymi. Carabidae Karkonoskiego Parku Narodowego są poznane bardzo fragmentarycznie, a publikowane dane dotyczą wybranych i nielicznych siedlisk, dlatego wskazane jest przeprowadzenie kompleksowych badań faunistycznych uwzględniających całe spektrum siedliskowe tego terenu.
