dc.abstract.enThe aim of this article was to present selected papers regarding issues related to porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV), porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) and atypical porcine pestivirus (APPV), infections in swine. The article was prepared on the basis of lectures and reports presented during the 14th ESPHM symposium, which was held from 31st May to 2nd June 2023 in Thessaloniki. In terms of PRRSV, topics such as virus variability and its importance for the course of the disease, immunosuppressive effects of the virus and news focused on immunoprophylaxis and diagnostic matrices useful in surveillance of PRRS were discussed. Presentations on APPV focused on the evaluation of the suitability of various samples for the diagnosis of infection and on the phylogenetic analysis of APPV strains. Moreover, new data on the development of a porcine epidemic diarrhea (PED) vaccine was presented
