dc.abstract.enIntroduction. Health problems that cause hospitalization are mainly childhood diseases, which, due to their course or accompanying complications, require hospital treatment. The most common reasons for hospitalizing children and adolescents are respiratory infections, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and men talillness. Aim. The aim of the article is to discuss the most frequent hospitalizations of children and adolescents from various cities of the Silesian Voivodeship in 2010-2022. Material and method. The research material is data from the Silesian Voivodeship Office in Katowice - Department of Health. Results. The hospitalization rate for bronchial asthma is increasing in Bielsko-Biala and Sosnowiec. In Bielsko-Biala, Katowice, Sosnowiec, and Zabrze, the number of children hospitalized due to mental disorders is increasing. Conclusions. Analyses of the frequency and causes of hospitalization of children and adolescents can be a source of information on factors affecting the health of children and adoles cents. The general health condition of Polish children (0-14 years) is moderately satisfactory, and children and adolescents from industrial areas, which include the Silesian Voivodeship, are particularly exposed to more frequent hospitalizations for respiratory diseases and various types of allergies.
dc.abstract.plWprowadzenie. Problemy zdrowotne będące przyczyną hospitalizacji, to głównie choroby wieku dziecięcego, które ze względu na przebieg lub towarzyszące powikłania wymagają leczenia szpitalnego. Najczęstszymi przyczynami hospitalizacji dzieci i młodzieży są infekcje dróg oddechowych, choroby układu krążenia i nowotworowe, a także choroby psychiczne. Cel. Próba omówienia najczęstszych hospitalizacji dzieci i młodzieży z różnych miast woj. śląskiego w latach 2010-2022. Materiały i metody. Materiałem badawczym były dane pochodzące ze Śląskiego Urzędu Wojewódzkiego w Katowicach – Wy działu Zdrowia. Wyniki. Współczynnik hospitalizacji na astmę oskrzelową ma charakter wzrostowy w Bielsku-Białej i w Sosnowcu. W Bielsku Białej, Katowicach, Sosnowcu i w Zabrzu wzrasta liczba hospitalizowanych dzieci z powodu zaburzeń psychicznych. Wnioski. Analizy częstości i przyczyn hospitalizacji dzieci i młodzieży mogą być źródłem informacji na temat czynników mających wpływ na zdrowie dzieci i młodzieży. Ogólny stan zdrowia polskich dzieci (0-14 lat) jest średnio zadowalający, a dzieci i młodzież z terenów przemysłowych, do których zaliczane jest woj. śląskie, są szczególnie narażone na częstsze hospitalizacje z powodu chorób układu oddechowego i różnego rodzaju alergii.
