dc.abstract.enFortified landscapes from the turn of the 20th century have been subject to changes as a result of changes of anthropogenic origin as well as natural processes. The greenery accompanying historic fortifications, roads and barracks is an important element of urban greenery from a historical, natural and social point of view. Therefore, planned management of fortified heritage and its natural components is crucial. Shaping of fortress greenery requires consideration of historical and contemporary values, combining restrictions regarding the protection of monuments with current social and environmental needs. Given the number of threats facing fortress greenery and the need to mitigate their consequences, standards on how to protect and shape this greenery must be developed and implemented. Such standards could assist and improve the processes of revalorisation of former fortification areas and adaptation of historic fortifications to new roles. In this work, the authors determine the contemporary value offered by fortress greenery and also indicate problems related to identifying it, along with types and sources of threats. They summarize the theoretical and practical achievements to date in terms of protecting and shaping fortress greenery in a fortified landscape. These findings help identify real values that are worth preserving for the contemporary, sustainable development of fortress greenery. dc.abstract.plKrajobraz warowny z przełomu XIX i XX wieku podlega przemianom na skutek zmian pochodzenia antropogenicznego oraz naturalnych procesów przyrodniczych. Zieleń towarzysząca zabytkowym fortyfikacjom, drogom czy zespołom koszarowym, stanowi ważny z punktu widzenia historycznego, przyrodniczego oraz społecznego element zieleni miejskiej. Dlatego niezwykle ważne jest planowe zarządzanie fortecznym dziedzictwem przyrodniczym. Kształtowanie zieleni fortecznej wymaga uwzględnienia wartości zabytkowych i współczesnych, łączenia ograniczeń wynikających z ochrony zabytków z bieżącymi potrzebami społecznymi oraz środowiskowymi. Wobec szeregu zagrożeń, którym podlega zieleń forteczna oraz konieczności łagodzenia ich skutków, niezbędne jest opracowanie i wdrożenie standardów służących ochronie i kształtowaniu tej zieleni. Standardy takie mogłoby wspomóc i usprawnić procesy rewaloryzacji terenów pofortecznych oraz adaptacji zabytkowych fortyfikacji do nowych funkcji. W niniejszej pracy autorzy podjęli próbę określenia współczesnych wartości zieleni fortecznej, wskazali również problemy związane z jej identyfikacją, a także rodzajami i źródłami zagrożeń. Podsumowali dotychczasowe dokonania w zakresie teorii oraz praktyki ochrony i kształtowania zieleni fortecznej w krajobrazie warownym. Ustalenia te pozwoliły na wskazanie rzeczywistych wartości, których utrzymanie może mieć kluczowe znaczenie we współczesnym, zrównoważonym kształtowaniu zieleni fortecznej.
